Treks are such an adventurous way to rejuvenate at your favourite location in the lap of nature. The Himalayas being one of the most famous mountain ranges in the world offer amazing trails to trek on with views that are magnificent destinations that make us admire the beauty of nature all around. Here is a list of some treks in the Himalayas that you might want to go on as you plan your next holiday. 

 

Everest Base Camp

Starting with the most coveted trek any hiker can go onto, the Everest Base Camp offers great stays along the way and lasts for about 10 days. It is possible to visit from September to June to witness and enjoy the beauty. It is also called “steps to heaven”. The altitude of the base camp is about 18,500 ft. Total trekking distance is 130 km and it is considered a difficult trek. 

 

Brahmatal trek

This 6 day Trek is located in Uttarakhand and takes you to one of the most amazing places on the Himalayas. It is a track of moderate difficulty. Best time to visit would be around September to April. The highest point located on an average of approximately 12000 feet above sea level altitude is Brahmatal top. 

 

Valley of Flowers Trek

This trek is the same as the Brahmatal trek in terms of being six days in duration and located in Uttarakhand. It is also a take of moderate difficulty level. The best time to go on this track would be around July to September and it is located at an altitude of 14400 feet above sea level. As the name suggests, the destination is a valley of flowers where you can see a large variety of flowers in different shapes, colours and sizes and also in the different stages. The scent of the flowers is said to be so amazing that some trackers even fall unconscious. Now we don’t know if this is an exaggeration or not, maybe find out by yourself ? 

 

Hampta Pass Trek

The Hampta Pass trek is one of the treks that is a breathtaking crossover between different landscapes as it provides a view of the Spiti Valley while going through the pass which is an amazing experience and an absolute must have if you love going on treks and are just fond of natural beauty, in general. The duration of this trek could be early and it is of moderate difficulty level. The best time to visit  is around June to September.It is located in Himachal Pradesh and is about 14,000 feet high. 

 

Kedartal Lake

This trek of Uttarakhand is more in the difficult range of difficulty and meant for experienced trekkers. It is at an altitude of 15,485 feet above sea level. It is really adventurous because it involves river crossings, rock climbing and other challenges.The destination of the climb is Kedartal lake which is surrounded by mountains like Thalaysagar, Jogin and Gangotri. 

 

Rupin Pass Trek

This is one of the most happening treks with changing landscapes every few hours. There is just so much to see, keep your cameras handy and your eyes open! It is in Uttarakhand at an altitude of 15,270 feet. May-June or September -October are suggested months for this trek. Rati Pheri is to be climbed at a very steep angle on the trek. 

 

Chadar trek

Located in Ladakh, Chadar trek is a difficult one since it goes on the frozen Zanskar river and is only recommended for experienced trekkers with adequate fitness. January is the best month to visit. The maximum altitude on this trek is about 11,000 feet above sea level. Distance covered would be 6 kms. 

 

Har ki dun trek

This trail is especially famous for being one of the oldest treks in India. The Har ki dun valley is in the shape of a cradle, surrounded by greenery all around. It is in the Govind Ballabh Pant National Park at a height of about 11,675 feet.The trek can be of 5 days. The trail includes a few ancient villages and gorgeous glaciers. 

 

Prashar Lake trek

Surrounded by Dhauladhar range, Prashar Lake is located in Kullu and is one of the best Himalayan treks. The location of the lake makes the trekking worth it because it is supremely serene. The duration is 2 days and the best time to go would be December to March. 

 

Indrahar Pass trek

Located at an altitude of 14,245 feet, this pass is an incredible site for the best views. The difficulty is moderate with rocky terrain located at a height. It is only 12 km long and located in Himachal Pradesh.
